Jonathan Gloag Academy

Jonathan Gloag Academy (JGA) was opened in 2002 and was founded to educate the children of Kenya Children’s Home (formerly Thomas Barnardo House) alongside fee-paying pupils with all profits going to support charitable projects for underprivileged children.

The school has become one of the most successful schools in Nairobi with 100% pupils passing their exams allowing them to progress to Secondary School but it is our focus on values and helping others that sets JGA apart.

Our trained and dedicated teaching staff ensure a wide variety of opportunities are available through both curriculum teaching and extra-curricular activities that develop critical thinking and enhance their imagination.

The children are offered a range of extra-curricular activities including martial arts, brass band, talent expo, tennis, football (junior and senior), basketball, swimming, skating, chess, paper quilling, environmental, ballet and Scouts.

KCH also funds children from Kibera, Nairobi’s largest slum, to attend JGA, offering scholarship places and opportunities the children would not otherwise have had.
