July 2022

Birthday celebrations

We enjoyed birthday celebrations for baby Zawadi, one of the oldest children in our abandoned baby unit. A lovely day was had by all.

Breakfast with the babies

A few of the managers and staff shared breakfast with the babies in the nursery at the end of July. The children are doing well despite the coughs and tough weather.

Huge thanks to The Rockefeller Foundation

The Rockefeller Foundation in Nairobi donated a huge consignment of office furniture to the home at the end of July. We are so thankful for the support.

Friends

Youths from Reign City Chapel visited the home on 17th July to interact with the children and share snacks together. July also saw us enjoy kidship with a friend of the home, Zainab, from the Malawian High Commission in Nairobi.

Clothes Drive

We are so thankful to everyone who donated during our clothes (and non clothes) drive at the Greatwall Gardens (Phase 1) in Athi River, Nairobi on 30th and 31st July. Thanks also to the Resource Mobilization department for working so hard to collect the donations.

Music Lessons

Redemta and Theresia are continuing with their music lessons. Lessons and guitars are supported by their very generous sponsor.

House 7 exit party

We held the House 7 exit party on 22nd July. All the children of house 7 were placed in other houses to allow room for expansion and implementation of the new Junior Secondary according to the new Kenyan education system. The children have so far settled in well in their new houses.

Celebrating with Upfield Company

Upfield Company, manufacturers of Blueband, visited the home on the 4th July to interact with the children as they celebrated their 4th anniversay. They donated over 200 pieces of Blueband, assorted clothes, sanitary towels and a monetary donation for which we are very grateful.
