December 2021

December 2021 Web Diary

December was a super fun-filled month! We shared quite a number of joyous moments together. We also got to share in the celebration with some of our donors. Here’s a brief recap;

Suswa Camp

We had the Suswa girls join the children at Kenya Children's Home in Nairobi for a weeks Christmas camp, from 23rd – 28th December.  During their time with us the children enjoyed sports, shopping at the HUB Karen, a medical camp so we can ensure they are healthy and thriving, mentorship and a trip to the Mamba village - which was very insightful!

Christmas Party

The highlight of the month!  We organised a Christmas party where the children came together to share a fun-filled day.

Tammy’s kitchen donated Christmas cake with assorted snacks like doughnuts and cinnamon rolls which were delicious!

Donations

Dairy land (Glacier products Limited company) was kind enough to donate ice cream, chocolates and a financial donation in celebration of the festive season. The children were very happy to indulge in the sweet treats and we were delighted with the support.

Isuzu HR department donated mosquito nets. We were very grateful as the nets will be helpful in keeping the children safe. The Isuzu Women’s Council donated assorted items including shoes, pants, sanitary towels and bras to the girls. They also brought cake that the children enjoyed a lot!

The Panari Hotel donated 50 cartons of porridge flour for the children as well as assorted items including toiletries. The Institution of Engineers of Kenya donated food and non-food items.

The SGS Limited Company made a financial donation for Christmas. The Holy Cross Catholic Church made cash and kind donations, and Sunshine Secondary School also made cash and food donations.

We are very grateful for all the kindness our donors and well-wishers continue to accord us. We appreciate and commit to continue collaborating with brands and individuals to better the lives of children in Kenya.

Donation Drive at Nyayo Estate

We held a donation drive at Nyayo Estate. The drive was successful and we received assorted household, personal and food items.

We are very grateful to the local communities for their continued support.

Barbecue Day

We held a celebratory barbecue to celebrate and bid farewell to our sisters from Suswa Girls Rescue Centre. We had shared wonderful moments throughout the festive season. We had mbuzi choma and an assortment of snacks at the farewell party.

The children, staff and volunteers have had a wonderful December and look forward to a fun filled 2022.
