August 2021

August was filled with fun activities and school work, the children also had a midterm break to rest and rejuvenate.

Shoes and clothes donations

We received an assortment of shoes and clothes donations from a regular supporter.  The children were happy and took photos wearing some of the donated items.

We are grateful to our donors who continue supporting the home and children’s activities.

August Birthdays

We were excited to celebrate the birthday of the children born in August - Gordon, Veronica, Caroline, Gilbert, Geoffrey and Martha turned a year older and we all came together to celebrate with them!

Pizza treat

The children enjoyed a pizza treat courtesy of a friend of the Home and International Volunteer.

Treats from sponsors

Grace, Benson and Esther went for shopping treats courtesy of their sponsors.

Mentorship sessions

The social work department, led by Purity, conducted mentorship sessions for the Class 8 pupils on Thursday 26th August, and for Class 5 and 7 on Friday 27th. The children were encouraged to continue working hard at school, given career guidance and encouraged on different life matters.  Staff also met with their mentees in an effort to help them improve on their livelihoods.

Midterm break

The children went on a midterm break on the 26th August and were back to school on the 30th.  They had been well rested and were happy to continue with their studies at school.
