February – Catch up with KCH

  • by

Staff and students at our Soila Maasai Girls Rescue Centre (SUSWA)  marked #endFGM day on 6 February. An alternative to early marriage and FGM is achieved through education at Suswa. It was a good day!

On the 13th February staff and children at KCH marked WORLD RADIO DAY discussing the importance of the radio and its usefulness in bringing together communities, sharing news, and of course the joy of shared music.

On the 14th February the team at our Kelvinside Bakery were hard at work making valentines day cakes. They looked amazing.

We held a parents evening for our Outreach Programme. The Outreach Programme was launched in 2007 to support children from impoverished backgrounds to remain with their family members who wanted to care for them but needed some help. KCH provides education, food and living expenses, while also offering emotional and spiritual support to the children and their families. The programme has supported over 300 children since its launch, thereby lifting them out of poverty and changing their lives dramatically in the process.

On the 28th February our transport team received training from the Isuzu company on safety awareness.
