Kelvin Kraft

Set up in May 2008, Kelvin Kraft is the second income generation project originally supported by Kelvinside Academy in Glasgow in the UK. The fashion and tailoring business was originally set up to offer older girls from KCH skills training in dress making.

Kelvin Kraft has since transformed considerably and now encompasses a professional training academy where girls come to gain the skills and qualifications needed for employment in the tailoring industry, in addition to the expansion of our commercial business.

Under the tutelage of our professional seamstress and teachers, the girls are trained and produce school uniforms for Jonathan Gloag Academy, Soila Maasai Girls Centre and Mashimoni Squatters School.

They are also trained to produce a host of other goods such as bags, purses, oven gloves, aprons and household items which are now sold to both the local and international markets, with all proceeds going directly back into KCH.
